Welcome to the Inner Monologue Book Club
Think of this as the sister-circle extension of Hold Up, Let Me Call My Sis. On the pod, we take everyday life, pop culture, and current events and peel back the layers to uncover the universal truths that connect us all. The book club lets us do the same thing — but this time, with the brilliance of authors across time, cultures, geographies, and faith traditions guiding the conversation.
We believe that books are more than entertainment — they’re sacred texts of human experience. Every story, whether fiction or nonfiction, carries within it a set of keys. Keys to self-discovery. Keys to freedom. Keys to awareness. And together, we’re going to use them.
Our journey is shaped by three core pillars
-
Awareness is the first step. As Candace Van Del reminds us, “you have to get real about how you feel so you can heal.” Bringing what’s hidden in the shadows to the forefront of our consciousness allows us to name it, sit with it, and begin to move toward wholeness.
-
Once we’re aware, we can start to decode. From birth, we’ve been conditioned to operate within society’s belief systems, whether cultural, religious, or political. By examining the systems, patterns, and agreements we’ve unconsciously signed onto, we begin to see the world as it really is — not just as we’ve been taught to see it.
-
Awareness and decoding open the door, but the real transformation happens when we step inside. As Michael Singer teaches, “the only permanent solution to your problems is to go inside and let go of the part of you that seems to have so many problems with reality.” This is the work of unlocking: recognizing how our inner world creates our outer experience and choosing freedom, peace, and authenticity as our new foundation.
